Therapist II

Location: Egg Harbor Twp, NJ  |  Position Status: Per Diem/Pool  |  Position Shift: Varies
Reports To: Unit Director/Clinical Supervisor
 
Training:  Annual, safety, six (6) hours in discipline. Effective 1/21, existing incumbents with Heart Saver First Aid CPR/AED will be required to renew with BLS; all new hires effective this same date are required to have BLS within 90 days of hire. CPI required within 90 days of hire or transfer.

Position Summary:
The therapist/licensed independent practitioner provides individual, family, group, addictions and other therapies to clients and their families according to the privileges they have been granted.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Completes bio-psychosocial assessments and prepares a comprehensive treatment plan for all new admissions.
  • Engages support systems and referral sources in assessment process.
  • Provides basic case management services and documents treatment provided.
  • Provides supervision to non-lip staff.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services appropriate to any age/disability group assigned.
  • Proficient in the knowledge and skills described in the core competency curriculum for each assigned age/disability group.
  • Assesses client for an initial treatment plan and appropriately re-assesses the client's needs throughout treatment.
  • Completes master treatment plans that are behaviorally specific and with goals and objectives that are related to client problem areas. All master treatment plans indicate level of client/family involvement.
  • Provides competent individual, family, couples and group psychotherapy and substance abuse therapy.
  • Provides other therapeutic services within scope of demonstrated competence, as required.
  • Provides competent crisis intervention.
  • Assists with case management and interagency coordination of services for clients.
  • Makes appropriate referrals.
  • Provides clinical guidance and appropriate interactions with external providers.
  • Documents all client interactions, including all sessions with clients, families, significant others, etc., within established timeframes.
  • Completes progress notes accurately, addressing treatment goals, major clinical issues and changes in mental health status.
  • Writes in a professional and competent manner.
  • Documentation must be completed within one (1) calendar day of service delivery.
  • Productivity goals shall meet %, as designated by department.
Minimal Qualifications:
  • Education: Master's degree in behavioral health.
  • Licensure: Valid LCSW or LPC license or licensed clinical psychologist. LCSW or LAMFT license preferred.
  • Experience: Two (2) years in behavioral health setting with the specific population they will be serving. Must be able to conduct therapy sessions in the language of the population served, if applicable.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Additional year of experience in behavioral health setting.
  • Equipment use: computer, copier, facsimile.
