Technical Project Associate

Location: Egg Harbor Twp, NJ  |  Position Status: Full Time  |  Position Shift: Days
The technical project associate works hand in hand with the AtlantiCare Corporate Construction office to plan the build-out of new sites, large moves and renovations for AtlantiCare and its leased properties. This role is responsible for working on very detailed budgets and timelines while utilizing resources from all areas of AtlantiCare Information Technology (AIT). This role communicates with colleagues, performs assessments and builds blueprints of exact equipment locations while making suggestions to improve workflow. This position drives standardization and is responsible for ensuring that schedules are met in cooperation with the Construction office. This position may require on-call responsibilities.

This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and by demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred.
  • LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: A+ certification and/or PMP certification preferred. Valid driver's license required.
  • EXPERIENCE: 3 to 5 years of experience in field or a related area required. Demonstrates knowledge of standard concepts, practices and procedures within a particular field required. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required, combined with the ability to provide quick resolutions to problems. Strong verbal and written communications skills required. Demonstrates a wide degree of creativity and latitude. Must be customer service-oriented and believe in AtlantiCare Values, collaboration, adaptability and initiatives.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
  • Position will require travel between various locations. Actively understands relevant legal, legislative and policy issues as they relate to area of responsibility. Develops budgets based on needs and standards; submits budgets to other team members for review and input.
  • Submits to Corporate Construction Department for final approvals.
  • Participates in initial site walkthroughs with Network, Telecom and Application teams.
  • Collects information about current set-up; collects/creates floor plan.
  • Collects walkthrough checklists from Telecom and Applications teams and submits to AtlantiCare leadership.
  • Works with asset analyst to order all hardware items budgeted and maintains tracking of ordered items to reconcile budget.
  • Develops detailed spreadsheets of equipment and tracks backs to budgets. Develops deployment timelines based on Corporate Construction Department Master Timeline. Tests all devices with staff to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Provides go-live support.
  • Creates schematic drawings for vendors to add drops or place equipment. Walks with customers through all phases of job (schematic to build) to ensure continuity with workflow.
  • Aligns needs and workflows of customers with AIT standards.
  • Works with staff to generate requests for purchases (RFPs).
  • Works with all other AIT departments to communicate timing of project and expectations. Works with AIT project management to deliver infrastructure portions of projects.
  • Co-chairs biweekly meetings with other departmental leadership to provide updates on current practices in transition, and receives notifications of possible new acquisitions.
  • Conducts a biweekly meeting for Move Add Change (MAC) team to keep everyone on track.
  • Works with facilities to arrange any mechanical build-out support equipment, such as TVs, arms, etc.
  • Works with Corporate Construction department and owners to discuss projects to determine and set expectations.
  • Works with administration to perform moves of various types, such as offices, departments and facilities.
  • Tracks and prepares the logistics and coordination of moves in advance.
  • Attends various organizational meetings to determine project needs and AIT responsibilities. Maintains a detailed project folder on each project, to include budget, counts, schematic, quotes, RTPs, drawings, meeting notes, etc.
  • Works with AIT team members to determine application portfolio for each project.
  • Maintains a status on all projects. Understands the procedures and methods used in the installation and maintenance of hardware platforms.
  • Ability to look at a current process and recommend and implement improvements.
  • Responsible for coordinating deliveries related to Data Center equipment.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of which vendors are in use by the Data Center and how to contact and escalate any vendor-related problems.
  • Adheres to AtlantiCare and AtlantiCare Information Technology policies and procedures.
  • Maintains consistent and accurate ITSM databases/tools as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances and potential injury. This position requires balancing, climbing, fingering, grasping, hearing, kneeling, reaching, reading, seeing, speaking, standing and stooping a majority of the time. The ability to carry, lift, push and pull up to 75 lbs. required. Occasional driving also required.

This position reports to the director or manager in related area.
