The Endoscopy Team Leader is a leader of the interdisciplinary team working in close collaboration with the physician, anesthesiologist and staff. The Team Leader is responsible for overseeing any necessary coordination of this interdisciplinary plan of care.
The Team Leader ensures expert nursing care delivery by providing staff education, consultation, evidence-based clinical practice and leadership. This position supervises staff in their daily activities to ensure the delivery of care according to established departmental policies and procedures. This position assists the Clinical Manager with resolving staff issues, participating in performance reviews, monitoring budgetary practices, preparing staff schedules, documenting performance improvement activities and orienting new employees to the unit.
The Team Leader serves as a key communicator for organizational updates, policy changes and education needs. This position establishes and maintains communication with physicians and other professionals to promote mutual understanding of problems and plans of care.
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts, and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation. And the position supports fiscal goals with maintenance of appropriate staffing and equipment levels.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of New Jersey. BLSHCP and ACLS required. National certification in specialty preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Meets qualifications as outlined for specialty. 3 years of clinical experience required within specialty. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as leadership skills, required. Proficiency in clinical applications preferred at time of hire. Incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, blood-borne pathogens and potential injury.
Physical demands include, but are not limited to, considerablr stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing heavy equipment and excessive standing and walking. Lifts approximately 25-50 lbs. frequently; lifts 50-10 lbs. with assistance occasionally. Some departments require the ability to distinguish colors.

This position reports to the Clinical Manager and Clinical Director.
