The off-site Senior Maintenance Mechanic III leads other facility staff members on various projects. The Level III Mechanic demonstrates the ability to teach and lead trade skills to a member of the department, reviews work of outside vendors and reports discrepancies to management.
The Senior Maintenance Mechanic III ensures that all mechanical logs and reports are completed in an accurate and timely manner. This position works within the chosen trade independently to analyze and correct complex problems and determines manpower need, materials needs and deadlines for jobs or projects.
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED required. Vocational graduate or associate's degree in engineering preferred.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Valid driver's license required. Certified or formally licensed in one or more skills required to maintain the systems, equipment and facility.

EXPERIENCE: Commercial, industrial or institutional experience within a healthcare facility on building maintenance and repair of complex environmental systems preferred. Demonstrates knowledge of building codes, state requirements, healthcare regulatory standards and The Joint Commission compliance required. Demonstrates knowledge of occupational hazard and safety precautions within various trades required. Demonstrates ability and knowledge to read and interpret architectural, mechanical and electrical drawings.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This environment has the potential for exposure to extreme degrees of heat, noise, dust and dirt, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances and potential injury. Requires meeting deadlines for completion of work on a daily basis. Requires the ability to sit; stands; bend; kneel; and climb stairs, ladders and equipment. Has good sense of balance to work on heights. Requires the ability to lift 75 to 100 pounds and work in a strained position some of the time. Works whatever hours are necessary to maintain facility in a safe manner, including weekends and nights.
