Senior Digital Integration Architect - Remote Opportunity

Location: Egg Harbor Twp, NJ  |  Position Status: Full Time  |  Position Shift: Days
The Digital Integration Architect III is responsible for the integration of applications across the business and serves as a core member of the digital development and integration teams, orchestrating the development of FHIR integrations from multiple source systems. This position requires a deep knowledge of Cerner, Cerner Command Language (CCL) and SQL and leverages a multitude of other tools and frameworks, including FHIR, Ignite API, JSON, web or RESTful API development, and HL7. Responsibilities include digital integration, innovation, development, ongoing support and system maintenance with a strong creative, solution-oriented background. The Digital Integration Architect III is also responsible for design, system validation, implementation and upgrade activities across solutions and venues of care with minimal supervision.

This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems field or similar field required.

EXPERIENCE:
  • 3-5 years of healthcare application integration work experience, including experience with Health Level 7 (HL7) interface programming, Cerner Command Language (CCL), SQL, FHIR, Ignite API, JSON, web or RESTful API development, industry-specific interface standards and code sets (ANSI, HIPAA, SNOMED, etc.), and interface engines and tools (e.g., Cloverleaf) required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant architecture experience, preferably within a health system environment, required. Advanced-level knowledge and understanding of architecture, application systems design and integration required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience managing medium to large data integration projects required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Preferred: 2 or more years of experience with service oriented architecture (SOA) preferred. Advanced experience with Microsoft Office applications preferred.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
  • Maintains primary ownership for the design, build and maintenance of highly complex interfaces and other data integration elements.*
  • Independently resolves the most complex interface errors and data integration issues.*
  • Leads large projects and functions as a data integration expert on complex, cross-functional projects.*
  • Demonstrates advanced understanding of the data flow among applications throughout the client application architecture and works directly with the Application teams to resolve complex data integration issues.*
  • Leads in integration of Cerner clinical application with web and FHIR technologies.
  • Implements, configures, tests and validates FHIR integrations from multiple source systems.
  • Configures FHIR end points, invokes web services, handles data storage and persists into appropriate target systems.
  • Handles appropriate data transformation and conformation of incoming FHIR messages received in various versions.
  • Develops SQL data models off of incoming FHIR payloads to persist data for further analytics and reporting needs.
  • Tests and documents end-to-end integration pipeline to meet quality and business requirements.
  • Actively leads and takes ownership for the design, build and maintenance of system interfaces and other data integration elements.*
  • Troubleshoots and resolves highly complex interface errors and other data integration issues.*
  • Demonstrates responsibility for addressing a high volume of system-related activities in a timely fashion while consistently maintaining a high level of quality and customer satisfaction.*
  • Understands the business use of clinical and non-clinical applications and works with the Application teams to help resolve data integration issues related to those systems.*
  • Manages data integration concerns for the end users.*
  • Demonstrates primary ownership for the design, build and maintenance of highly complex interfaces and other data integration elements.*
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders, end users and other members of the business, patient care and Information Technology teams to optimize data flow and access.*
  • Evaluates problem tickets and service requests, customer requests for changes, data integration requests, system performance problems and optimization opportunities. Participates in the timely resolution of these activities.*
  • Addresses data integration concerns for the end users.*
  • Works with end users to gather business requirements and performs analysis, code and test interfaces to ensure successful and seamless communication among the various IT systems and applications components.*
  • Participates in the design, build and maintenance of system interfaces and other data integration elements.*
  • Demonstrates responsibility for monitoring system interfaces and interface engine to proactively identify potential issues and assist in troubleshooting and resolving data integration issues.*
  • Demonstrates responsibility for testing the data integration components of systems, including any configurations, customizations and new releases prior to production implementation.*
  • Demonstrates responsibility for communicating system changes to the end user and training staff.*
  • Participates as a team member in various projects, including those led by the PMO.*
  • Prepares for and participates in system design, validation and/or remediation sessions.*
  • Works with vendors to ensure deliverables are met on time, in budget and in scope.*
  • Works with application teams to assist with the design and execution of integrated testing.*
  • Position requires local travel.*
  • Position requires participation in 24/7 department on-call program.*
  • On-call employees are required to carry a department-issued phone or pager, respond to calls within 15 minutes, troubleshoot problem, provide services off-site as needed, and be available to provide services on-site as needed within 1 ½ hours of being called or paged to respond.*
  • Position requires participating in meetings outside of normal business hours, including occasional evenings and/or weekends.*
  • Performs other duties as assigned.*

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Repetitive motion of the hands due to heavy computer work. Occasional driving also required.
