Security Manager - Armed Division

Location: Atlantic City, NJ  |  Position Status: Full Time  |  Position Shift: Varies
TITLE:  Security Manager, Armed Division

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Retired law enforcement officer with a valid New Jersey Retired Law Enforcement Officer Program (RPO) license required.
  • Valid Armed Security Officer Registration Act (Armed SORA) license required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Undergraduate credits or degree preferred.
  • Lawfully owned firearm matching required specifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other security-related applications/programs required.
  • Certifications and training listed below are required at the time of appointment or within 6 or 12 months from date of hire or transfer as noted.
  • Once obtained, all certifications requiring renewal must be kept current at all times.
  • Valid New Jersey driver's license.
  • Safely operate a motor vehicle in accordance with all motor vehicle laws and company policies.

 

POSITION SUMMARY
The AtlantiCare Security Manager – Armed Division supervises officers assigned to the Armed Division and manages the weapons screening program for the organization. The manager performs security operations according to the AtlantiCare Security Department security management plan, strategic plan, standard operating procedures and AtlantiCare policies and standards. This position provides and preserves a secure environment for patients, visitors and staff at AtlantiCare and provides quality customer service. Able to perform all the duties of an AtlantiCare armed security officer. The manager communicates effectively with all staff and management, as well as patients and visitors. Duties include scheduling, training, reviewing work product and reports, supervising a shift of armed security officers, assigning and managing equipment, personnel administration and other duties, as assigned. Provides training to officers and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Undergraduate credits or degree preferred.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
  • Retired law enforcement officer with a valid Retired Law Enforcement Officer Program (RPO) license required.  Must be kept current at all times.
  • Valid Armed Security Officer Registration Act (Armed SORA) license required. Must be kept current at all times.
  • International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) and Certified Advanced Healthcare Security Officer (CAHSO) certifications required within 6 months of employment. Once obtained, must be kept current at all times.
  • FEMA Certification: Incident Command System (ICS) required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer.
    • ICS 100 – Incident Command Overview
    • ICS 200 – ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents
    • ICS 700 – National Incident Management System (NIMS) Overview
    • IS 906 – Workplace Security Awareness
    • IS 907 – Active Shooter Training
  • CPI required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer. Once obtained, must be kept current at all times.
  • BLS required within 60 days from date of hire or transfer. Once obtained, must be kept current at all times.
  • Hazardous Materials Training required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer.
  • Valid New Jersey driver's license and subject to periodic license audit.

EXPERIENCE:
  • Retired law enforcement officer with valid certifications and equipment matching required specifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and sound judgement.
  • Knowledge of PCs and related applications required, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and security-related applications/programs.
  • Ability to work both independently and under supervision and engage in self-initiated work in accordance with all AtlantiCare and Security policies.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Demonstrates the ability to perform the department-specific competencies as listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, bloodborne pathogens, hazardous substances and potential injury. Moderate to heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling, as well as continuous walking and standing.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
This position reports to department leadership as assigned.
