Registered Nurse Oncology Navigator - Egg Harbor Township Cancer Center - Full Time

Location: Egg Harbor Twp, NJ  |  Position Status: Full Time  |  Position Shift: Days
The nurse navigator – oncology provides a personalized level of support to help patients, families and caregivers from screening to survivorship understand their care. In collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, she/he is responsible for coordinating timely access to quality and comprehensive health and psychosocial services throughout the continuum of care.

This position serves as a clinical resource with expertise in hematology/oncology care management. The nurse navigator also serves as a liaison throughout AtlantiCare and in the community. The navigator also provides clinical support and acts as a patient advocate with the caregivers that are both internal and external to support wellness and optimal health in the community

This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

  • EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. Bachelor's in nursing preferred. Active pursuit of bachelor's degree required and obtained by 2020.
  • LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of New Jersey. BLS HCP certification required 6 months from date of hire or transfer required.
  • EXPERIENCE: 5 years of oncology clinical experience required. Case management experience preferred. Excellent interpersonal, motivational interviewing and written and verbal communication skills, as well as computer literacy, required. Proficiency in clinical applications preferred at time of hire. Incumbents within position will be trained appropriately on the skills that will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.

Demonstrates the technical competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.

Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, blood-borne pathogens (including exposure to infectious disease), hazardous substances and potential injury. This position requires frequent walking and standing.

The position reports to department leadership and may supervise incumbents as assigned.
