The clinical supervisor ensures expert nursing care delivery by providing staff education, evidence-based clinical practice and leadership.
The clinical supervisor directs staff in their daily activities to ensure the delivery of care according to established departmental policies and procedures. This position assists with daily operations of patient flow, handling customer service recoveries, supplies and stocking, scheduling and assignments, as well as acting as an alternative for payroll duties.
This position establishes and maintains communication with physicians and other professionals to promote mutual understanding of problems and plans of care.
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Bachelor's in nursing required.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of New Jersey. BLS required. ACLS required within 30 days of transfer/hire.

EXPERIENCE: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as leadership skills, required. Proficiency in clinical applications preferred at time of hire. Incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.

Demonstrates the ability to perform the department-specific competencies as listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to blood-borne pathogens, along with infectious diseases. Physical demands include, but are not limited to, considerable stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing heavy equipment and excessive standing and walking. Lifting approximately 25-50 lbs. frequently; lifting 50-10 lbs. with assistance occasionally. Some departments require the ability to distinguish colors.

POPULATION SERVED
The clinical supervisor will be able to triage, assess and treat patients of all ages presenting for emergency care for all body systems, conditions and diseases including, but not limited to, coronary, pulmonary, neuro, skeletal muscular, GI/metabolic, GU/renal, GYN, integumentary, etc.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
This position report to department leadership and may supervise incumbents as assigned.
