Registered Nurse Clinical Manager - 2 Meadow

The clinical manager ensures expert nursing care delivery by providing staff education, consultation, evidence-based clinical practice and leadership.

The clinical manager supervises staff in their daily activities to ensure the delivery of care according to established departmental policies and procedures. This position assists the clinical director with resolving staff issues, participating in performance reviews, monitoring budgetary practices, preparing staff schedules, developing and implementing performance improvement activities, and orienting new employees to the unit.

The clinical manager serves as a key communicator for organizational updates, policy changes and education needs. This position establishes and maintains communication with physicians and other professionals to promote mutual understanding of problems and plans of care.

This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

QUALIFICATIONS

• EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. Bachelor's in nursing or allied health required. Master's degree preferred.
• LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of New Jersey. BLS required. National certification in specialty preferred.
• EXPERIENCE: Meets qualifications as outlined for specialty. 3 years of clinical experience required within specialty. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as leadership skills, required. Proficiency in clinical applications preferred at time of hire. Incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.

SPECIALTY EXPERIENCE ADVANCED CERTIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS

Emergency Room – Mainland and Kessler Satellite

• 2-4 years of medical/surgical experience required.
• 2 years of emergency room experience preferred.
• ACLS and PALS or ENPC.

Emergency Room – City

• 2-4 years of medical/surgical experience required.
• 2 years of emergency room experience preferred.
• TNCC, ACLS and PALS or ENPC.

Labor and Delivery

• 2-4 years of labor and delivery experience required.
• NPR (NALS) required.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit/Intermediate Care Unit

• 2-4 years of neonatal intensive care unit experience required.
• NPR (NALS) required.

Mother/Baby Unit

• 2-4 years of mother/baby experience preferred.
• NPR (NALS) required.

Operating Room

• Minimum 1 year of medical/surgical experience desired.
• 1-2 years of operating room experience required.
• CNOR required.

Critical Care

• 2-4 years of medical/surgical experience required.
• 1-2 years of critical care experience preferred.
• ACLS required.
• CCRN preferred.

Medical/Surgical

• 1-2 years of medical/surgical experience preferred.

Dialysis

• 1-2 years of medical/surgical experience required.
• 1-2 years of dialysis experience preferred.
• ACLS preferred but not required.

Psychiatry

• 1-2 years of medical/surgical experience required.
• 1-2 years of psychiatry experience preferred.
• Crisis intervention experience preferred for PIP.
• Certified Prevention Intervention annual education preferred.

Pediatrics

• 1-2 years of medical/surgical experience required.

Interventional Radiology

• 2-4 years of medical/surgical experience required.
• 1-2 years of interventional experience preferred.
• Critical Care experience preferred.
• ACLS required; PALS required within 1 year of hire/transfer.

Cath Lab

• 1-2 years pf critical care, emergency room or telemetry experience required.
• 1 year of cath lab experience preferred.
• ACLS required.

Trauma

• 2-4 years of medical/surgical experience required.
• 1-2 years of trauma experience preferred.
• ACLS, TNCC required.

Oncology

• 1-2 years of medical/surgical experience preferred.
• Chemotherapy experience preferred.
• Chemotherapy certification within 1 year from date of hire.

Cancer Center

• 3 years of clinical oncology specialty experience required.
• Chemotherapy certification within 1 year from date of hire.

Endoscopy

• Minimum 2 years of medical/surgical experience required.
• 1-2 years of endoscopy, telemetry and critical care experience preferred.
• ACLS is preferred, CGRN preferred, CER (or CFER) preferred.

Cardiac Diagnostic

• 1-2 years of medical/surgical experience required.
• 1-2 years of critical care experience preferred.
• ACLS is required.

Central Monitoring

• 1-2 years of medical/surgical experience required.
• 1-2 years of critical care experience preferred.
• Advanced level of dysrhythmia interpretation required.
• ACLS is required.

Cardiovascular ICU

• 2-4 years of critical care experience required.
• 2-4 years of cardiovascular ICU experience preferred.
• ACLS required; CCRN preferred.

Intermediate Care

• 2-5 years of telemetry experience required.
• ACLS required.

Telemetry

• 1-2 years of medical/surgical experience preferred.
• ACLS preferred.

Radiation Oncology

• 1-3 years of oncology experience required.
• OCN preferred.

PACU/SDS

• 1-3 years of critical care experience preferred.
• ACLS preferred; PALS required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer.

Pre-Admission Testing

• 1-3 years of medical/surgical experience required.

Prenatal, Perinatology and Family Planning

• 2-4 years of inpatient/outpatient women's health experience required.
• Electronic fetal monitoring certification preferred.
• OB certification preferred.

Practice Management

• 1-2 years of medical/surgical experience preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to blood-borne pathogens, along with infectious diseases. Physical demands include, but are not limited to, considerable stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing heavy equipment and excessive standing and walking. Lifting approximately 25-50 lbs. frequently; lifting 50-10 lbs. with assistance occasionally. Some departments require the ability to distinguish colors.

• Critical Care: Acute medical/surgical care of skeletal muscular, renal and ortho conditions and diseases including, but not limited to, AMI, CAD, PVD, CVA/TIA, COPD, CHF, shock, renal failure, metabolic disorders, etc.
• Behavioral Health: Behavioral health illnesses including, but not limited to, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, depression, psychosis, etc.
• Dialysis Patients with acute or chronic renal failure or chronic renal disease.
• Endoscopy Chronic pain management, endoscopic procedures of cardiovascular, GI, pulmonary conditions and disease, etc..
• Emergency Department: Triage, assess and treat patients of all age presenting for emergency care for all body systems, conditions and diseases including, but not limited to, coronary, pulmonary, neuro, skeletal, muscular, GI/metabolic, GU/renal, GYN, integumentary, etc.
• Intermediate Care: Monitored post-surgical care including, but not limited to, neuro, GI, GU/GYN, peripheral vascular interventions, orthopaedic procedures, etc. Medical diagnoses including, but not limited to, cardiac, pulmonary, neuron, GI, VCA/TIA and renal conditions, etc.
• Medical Surgical: Medical/surgical diagnoses including, but not limited to, orthopaedic, neuron, GI, GU/GYN, renal, metabolic, pulmonary systems and those requiring isolation/precautions.
• Telemetry/Medical/Surgical: Cardiac/cardiovascular, neuro, GI conditions and diseases including, but not limited to, CAD, PVD, COPD, CHF, metabolic disorders, etc.
• Telemetry/Stroke: Cardiac/cardiovascular, neuron, renal, GI conditions and diseases including, but not limited to, CAD, PVD, CVA/TIA, COPD, CHF, metabolic disorders, etc.
• Wound Care: GI, GYN/GU, integumentary conditions and diseases including, but not limited to, all ostomy diversion surgeries, wound care, pressure sore/ulcer, etc.

CLINICAL MANAGER IN RADIOLOGY

• Radiology: Skeletal and all body systems including, but not limited to, pulmonary, cardiac/cardiovascular, GI, GU/GYN, oncology, etc., during radiology exams.
• CT: Imaging with and without contrast of cardiopulmonary, vascular, neuron, GI, GU, GYN, skeletal/muscular conditions and diseases including, but not limited to, PVD, CVA/TIA, COPD, CHF, HNP, oncology, etc.
• Mammography: Mammary disease and disorders.
• MRI: Cardiac/cardiovascular, mammary, GI, endocrine, renal, skeletal conditions and diseases including, but not limited to, CAD, PVD, CVA/TIA, COPD, CHF, oncology, etc.
• Nuclear Medicine: Cardiac/cardiovascular, renal, skeletal, pulmonary conditions and diseases including, but not limited to, CAD, PE, cholecystitis, oncology, etc.
• Special Procedures: Stents/declotting vascular, rental conditions and diseases including, but not limited to, PVD, renal, oncology, etc..
• Ultrasound: Cholecystitis, BPH, oncology, uterine fibroids, fetal ultrasound, etc.
