Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN required.
Current New Jersey RN license required.

The wound care registered nurse assesses, evaluates, educates and recommends the appropriate care for patients with wounds, ostomies and incontinent issues at the request of the physician.
The wound care registered nurse identifies the educational needs of patients and staff and responds through the development and implementation of appropriate programs for this specialty. The RN maintains current knowledge of the practice standards of care and continually updates and re-educates staff. The RN develops and maintains policies and procedures related to wounds, ostomies and continence. This position works with and assists in controlling cost of equipment without jeopardizing the care of patients.
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service by participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
The wound care registered nurse establishes and maintains communication with physicians and other professionals to promote understanding of problems and a plan of care. This position establishes referral systems, provides education to interdisciplinary teams and acts as a resource to staff and unit management.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Current New Jersey RN license required. BLS is required. CSW or WOCN certification required within 1 year of date or hire or transfer, but strongly preferred at time of hire.
EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years of experience required. Knowledge of adult teaching principles required. Leadership skills required, including excellent verbal, written and computer skills. Proficiency in clinical applications preferred at time of hire. Incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.

Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, blood-borne pathogens, hazardous substances and potential injury. Physical demands include, but are not limited to, considerable stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing heavy equipment and excessive standing and walking and lifting 25-50 lbs.
