The perioperative nurse is responsible for providing exceptional patient care and family support throughout the three phases of the surgical experience. This position provides the physician members of the healthcare team with the equipment, supplies and support to perform surgical/endoscopic procedures.
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor's in nursing preferred.

Current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of New Jersey.

EXPERIENCE: Proficiency in clinical applications preferred at time of hire. Incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, blood-borne pathogens (including exposure to infectious disease), hazardous substances and potential injury.
This position works in a busy, noisy environment and has frequent interruptions requiring re-evaluation of priorities. This position requires standing for long periods of time, occasional lifting up to 20 pounds and walking short distances quickly.

SPECIALTY EXPERIENCE/ADVANCED CERTIFICATION REQUIRED/CERTIFICATION PREFERRED

Ambulatory/operating room experience preferred.

BLS HCP required.

ACLS preferred.

Certified Nurse of the Operating Room (CNOR) preferred.
