The clinical educator develops and implements clinical training programs that meet identified organizational educational needs.
The clinical educator identifies educational needs and responds through the development and implementation of appropriate programs as part of a strategic plan. This position teaches the care process and develops, interprets and teaches the appropriate standards of practice and standards of care. The Clinical Educator designs curriculum, evaluates its effectiveness and serves as a link with students, staff, management and outside agencies.
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor's or master's in nursing preferred.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of New Jersey. BLS HCP required. Certified in lactation consulting.

EXPERIENCE: 2-4 years of clinical experience required. Knowledge of adult teaching principles required. Proficiency in clinical applications preferred at time of hire. Incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances and potential injury.
