Registered Dietician - PACE - Atlantic City

Location: Atlantic City, NJ  |  Position Status: Full Time  |  Position Shift: Days
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and graduate of an accredited program for registered dietitians required. Master's preferred.
  • Certified Dietician Educator certification or Certified Dietician Educator eligibility required.
  • Valid New Jersey driver's license, registration and insurance are required.
  • Minimum 1 year working with the frail or elderly patient population required.
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical nutrition experience required.

POSITION SUMMARY
The dietitian is a member of the interdisciplinary team working in PACE LIFE Program. The dietitian assesses nutritional status of PACE participants. The dietitian utilizes the care process consistent with their license or certification, including initiation of interventions within individual scope of practice. The dietitian is responsible for overseeing any necessary coordination of the interdisciplinary plan and informs the team of the nutritional needs of each patient.

The dietitian also coordinates meal service to ensure meal plans and substitute meals meet the needs of the PACE participant. This position provides nutrition counseling education and therapy to participants. The dietitian also educates and counsels family and other caregivers regarding dietary issues and conducts initial and period assessments.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and graduate of an accredited program for registered dietitians required. Master's degree preferred.
  • LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Certified Dietician Educator certification or Certified Dietician Educator eligibility required. Registered by the American Dietetic Association. Valid New Jersey driver's license, registration and insurability are required.
  • EXPERIENCE: Minimum 1 year working with the frail or elderly patient population required. Minimum 3 years of clinical nutrition experience required.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Demonstrates the competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This positon must be able to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team model, interfacing and collaborating with a wide range of clinical and social services disciplines who work together to manage the PACE participants' care. The work setting is in an adult day health center and primary care clinic environment with moderate noise levels and controlled temperatures.

This position also requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Incumbents must be able to communicate with all staff, vendors and clients. Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination, as well as the ability to use department equipment. This position also requires lifting/carrying up to 30 pounds. Uses appropriate body mechanics and equipment with reasonable accommodation, if needed.

This position reports to department leadership.
