The diagnostic technologist performs diagnostic testing and interventional radiology procedures according to established departmental procedures, ensuring the delivery of quality patient care.
The diagnostic technologist performs diagnostic testing and assists in interventional radiology procedures as directed by the physician at a competent technical level not requiring constant supervision. This position operates diagnostic equipment, including peripheral equipment, in a safe and efficient manner to obtain optimal test results. The technologist manages the patient during the diagnostic testing/procedure to meet quality patient care standards. This position ensures supplies are maintained and reports problems with equipment to the appropriate staff member.
This position actively participates in and supports student clinical education activities where applicable.
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
QUALIFICATIONS

LICENSE: Licensed by the State of New Jersey, Department of Environmental Protection for all modalities except ultrasound. ARRT(R).

EXPERIENCE: Candidates must possess ability to multitask with attention to fine detail in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in clinical applications required at time of hire.
SPECIALTY EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION CERTIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:

Graduate of an accredited radiological technologist school required.

2 years of diagnostic testing/interventional radiology experience required.

BLS for Healthcare Providers required.

Licensed by the State of New Jersey, Department of Environmental Protection.

Registered as an American Registry of Radiologic Technologist.

Advanced certification from ARRT preferred.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:
Demonstrates the ability to perform the departmentspecific competencies as listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, blood-borne pathogens, potential injury and hazardous substances, including electromagnetic radiation. Position requires the ability to stand a majority of the time. Position requires extensive pushing, pulling and lifting of patients and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
