The data analyst is responsible for overseeing, organizing and optimizing healthcare data, including EMR and claims data used to help drive strategic decisions and work activities for AtlantiCare. The analyst is responsible for the configuration and administration of analytic tools; the development and use of databases, data marts, reports and dashboards; and the interpretation of data and analysis results using statistical techniques. Provides essential data support and analyses for various business initiatives. Researches, analyzes, validates and prepares data for use in monitoring and reporting, strategy support and special projects.
This role requires working with multiple sources of healthcare data (ex: claims, financial and clinical data) to meet both internal and external reporting requirements and to support new initiatives. Projects range from simple programming and basic data manipulation/analysis to more advanced techniques and analytics. The analyst will master a variety of tools (ex: SQL, Excel, Tableau) to access data, write queries, create dashboards, run reports and manipulate and analyze large data sets to meet the needs of the organization. The analyst will present analytical findings in a variety of formats (reports, PowerPoint, Tableau, graphs, figures and tables), formulating recommendations and effectively presenting results to non-analytic audiences.
The analyst will have exceptionally strong analytical thinking to break down complex problems and a strong will to get things done and deliver accurate results. Demonstrated experience in analytical problem solving (including statement of problem, identification and collection of pertinent data, analysis, recommendation and revaluation) strongly preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree is required. Master's degree in analytics, data science or related field preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires sitting, standing, walking, stopping and crouching for a majority of the workday. This position works with such equipment as a computer terminal, fax machines, printer and copier. This position may require occasional lifting.
