The Medication Safety Officer/Pharmacy Regulatory Affairs Manager is responsible for the oversight, vision and strategy of the Pharmacy service line programs and services at AtlantiCare that involve medication safety and regulatory affairs. This position is integral in developing, implementing and monitoring programs that continuously improve the processes for the use of medications and adherence to regulatory requirements within the organization in support of quality patient care objectives.
The Medication Safety Officer/Pharmacy Regulatory Affairs Manager possesses a comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy practice, clinical analytical capabilities, computer skills aptitude and a sound understanding of the organization's and the service line's strategic goals and objectives. The Medication Safety Officer/Pharmacy Regulatory Affairs Manager maintains pharmacy service line scorecards, dashboards and action plans in areas of medication safety and regulatory compliance, but not limited to performance improvement, high-risk and other process monitoring and assessment, CDS surveillance and customer experience. This position participates in policy and procedure development, as well as staff competency assessment. Two distinct assignments for this position are secretary to the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee and a co-chair to MedStar. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer experience, leading performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and patient safety. The Medication Safety Officer/Pharmacy Regulatory Affairs Manager is responsible for continued professional and personal growth.
This position also manages and directs the pharmacists-in-charge for contracted pharmacy services (BBRH), pharmacist and technician procurement and Cancer Center staff, and the student program in regards to medication safety and regulatory compliance. The Pharmacy Administrative Secretary supports this position.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy required. Lean Six Sigma training preferred. Master's in business or other advanced degree preferred.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Current license in the state of New Jersey as a registered pharmacist required. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) certification preferred. ACLS preferred. CPR preferred.

EXPERIENCE: 4 years minimum of pharmacy practice experience required. Proficiency with computer, data analytic and clinical applications required. Good communication and interpersonal skills required. Incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances and potential injury. This position requires frequent standing, walking and reaching.
