A Midtown Ambassador advances AtlantiCare's neighborhood revitalization efforts for Midtown Atlantic City. Ambassadors play a key role in identifying opportunities for neighborhood improvements, as well as establishing and supporting communication efforts with residents and businesses within the defined neighborhood. They serve as a connector to available programs and resources within the community and educate others on how to access. This could include helping organize and support community events or distributing program information throughout the community.
Ambassadors participate in weekly team activities to help identify and address potential code violations, identify infrastructure needs and share other public safety concerns. Ambassadors raise awareness, have an interest in finding solutions, and work to enhance community spaces and settings via clean-up activities and other community gatherings.
This position supports organizational goals by implementing community projects and documenting progress toward project goals. Ambassadors demonstrate a commitment to teamwork, cooperation and inclusion.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: High school diploma/GED preferred, but not required.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: None required.
EXPERIENCE: Work experience preferred.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Candidates will be expected to work approximately 5 hours per week and required to work a minimum of 10 hours per month. Residents from Atlantic City, especially Midtown, are preferred. All candidates must demonstrate a commitment to teamwork and be willing to lead and/or participate in various projects throughout the neighborhood. Training will be provided.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Position will require frequent standing and walking. It requires lifting up to 25 lbs and some pushing and pulling of up to 25 lbs. Ambassadors may work with such equipment as a computer, printer and copier.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
This position reports to Director, Community Health Investment and works directly with the Community Project Coordinator.
