AtlantiCare, a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award recipient and southeastern New Jersey’s largest health system, is seeking an experienced BC Psychiatrist with an ABPM certification to serve as the new Medical Director of Addiction Services in Hammonton, New Jersey.
As AtlantiCare continues to prioritize addiction medicine services, the new Medical Director of Addiction Services will serve as a highly visible leader within our health system. In this role, leaders throughout the system will look to you to help establish standards and provide recommendations for evidence-based improvements for how we engage in substance use and recovery-related work for all our medical teams throughout our hospitals, emergency departments and ambulatory care locations. Lead this established addiction medicine service line with the support of system leadership, who seek the guidance of a visionary thinker who wants to make a difference in our communities, especially for those experiencing substance use. Primary duties of the new Medical Director will be split to provide direct patient care with scheduled appointments and clinic hours two days a week; dedicating one day each week to program development, including overseeing pharmacotherapy services and management of other providers, as well as providing consultation as the addiction medicine specialist throughout the system and for the patients admitted for medical stabilization; and two to three days overseeing the outpatient bridge clinics and collaborating with our two FQHC programs. Additionally, the Medical Director will provide policy and strategy for AtlantiCare’s Healing Atlantic County initiative, a program developed to help combat the opioid epidemic in southeastern New Jersey.
The successful candidate should be an experienced BC Psychiatrist with ABPM certification for Addiction Medicine, preferably with some experience in building or leading substance use programs.
