The Manager of Clinical Information Systems oversees the clinical application information system team, which is responsible for the entire lifecycle of clinical applications, including their development, maintenance, enhancement and decommissioning. This role ensures that all clinical technology solutions support efficient care delivery and align with organizational goals.
Key responsibilities include collaborating with operational, business and administrative leaders to drive clinical and business outcomes through effective management of application products. The role also involves supporting AtlantiCare's goals by delivering high-quality customer service, participating in performance improvement initiatives and fostering teamwork and cooperation.
AtlantiCare Information Technology (AIT) is dedicated to creating, managing and maximizing the value of digital technologies and solutions to enhance our clinical operations and business functions.
This position requires on-call responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: BS required. In lieu of bachelor's degree, additional four years of experience required.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Valid driver's license. Professional certification preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 years of experience of information technology or hospital administration experience. Proven expertise in information technology and clinical systems required. Management experience preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Computer application experience preferred.

Leads the clinical information systems team to ensure day-to-day operations align with AtlantiCare's clinical and business goals.

Supports the implementation of the clinical information system strategy in coordination with the Director of Clinical Systems, aligning with clinical operations and business initiatives.

Monitors and ensures compliance of clinical information system processes (including third-party services) with corporate, environmental and regulatory standards.

Manages and develops clinical information system team members, addressing skills gaps and enhancing capabilities to meet organizational needs.

Collaborates with IT leaders to implement and manage clinical system application roadmaps, status reporting and metrics.

Assists in managing relationships with solution vendors and service providers to ensure cost-effective solutions that meet organizational needs.

Contributes to the assessment of technical, clinical and business aspects of the clinical application portfolio, including cost and risk evaluation.

Supports the governance process for clinical information systems, working to achieve consensus on measurable clinical outcomes.

Oversees the team's execution of work based on priorities set by clinical service line management, stakeholders and IT governance councils.

Works with stakeholders to ensure clinical information system projects enhance business and technical fitness and manages support costs effectively.

Ensures successful delivery of clinical and business outcomes by collaborating with clinical operations and business colleagues.

Monitors benefits realization to confirm that clinical operations and business outcomes are achieved.

Oversees support activities with all AIT departments to ensure optimal application performance in production.

Manages the development of processes and tools for the successful delivery of code upgrades and service pack releases from vendors.

Communicates effectively with technical staff, clinical operations, business stakeholders and senior management.

Translates technical concepts for non-technical audiences to aid understanding and decision-making.

Collaborates and builds relationships with individuals at all levels within AtlantiCare and with external vendors and service providers.

Utilizes analytical and problem-solving skills for data processing and issue resolution.

Implements process improvements and technology-enabled workflow enhancements.

Works with the AIT Leadership team to ensure clinical information systems are secure and compliant with legal, corporate, privacy and confidentiality standards.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment on an occasional basis, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances and potential injury. This position requires balancing, fingering, reaching, reading, driving and speaking a majority of the time. This position works with such equipment as computers, fax machine, copier and telephone. Occasional carrying up to 20 lbs. also required.

This position reports to the Director of Clinical Systems.
