The food service aide performs a variety of food service assignments to provide meals and service to customers. Duties may include the preparation of food items, cashiering, cleaning and sanitizing according to department procedures.
This position maintains a clean and sanitary work environment and stocks assigned areas with supplies.
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to read, write and speak in English is required.
EXPERIENCE: Related experience preferred, but not required.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Demonstrates the competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances and potential injury. Requires the ability to walk, stand and reach for long periods of time. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. Good hand/eye coordination also required. Requires working in adverse conditions, such as wet floors, extreme change of temperature, sharp/dangerous equipment and hot foods and liquids.
