The Director of Philanthropy will guide the the AtlantiCare Foundation in transforming the culture into one where major and planned gifts provide an increasingly higher proportion of gifts and dollars raised.
The Director of Philanthropy is responsible for prospecting, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major gifts to support the efforts of AtlantiCare. The director will interact closely with the Foundation Board members, Foundation staff, medical staff, employees and key community members/leaders.
The director will manage an initial portfolio of 40 to 50 major donor prospects and be responsible for growing that portfolio to the 100 to 125 major donor ranges through a myriad of cultivation efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Valid driver's license required.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 years of experience in major gift fundraising in a charity with a strong major gift fundraising culture required. Fundraising experience in a healthcare setting is preferred. The ideal candidate will have a proven record of success.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
This position report to VP – Community Health & Social Impact and may supervise incumbents as assigned.
