POSITION SUMMARY
The clinical supervisor serves as a clinical resource regarding Occupational Health Nursing standards and quality improvement. This position ensures expert nursing care delivery by providing staff education, consultation, evidence-based clinical practice and leadership.

The clinical supervisor provides direct patient care. This position also supervises staff in their daily activities to ensure the delivery of care according to established departmental policies and procedures. The clinical supervisor collaborates and assists department leadership in developing and implementing initiatives. This position assists in potential and existing staffing issues.

The clinical supervisor serves as clinical liaison between the department and Occupational Health client. This position resolves clinical issues pertaining to client and patient.

This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. BSN preferred.
  • LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of New Jersey. Current BLS required.
  • EXPERIENCE: Meets qualifications as outlined for specialty. 3 years of clinical experience required within specialty. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as leadership skills, required. Proficiency in clinical applications preferred at time of hire. Incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Demonstrates the ability to perform the department-specific competencies as listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, blood-borne pathogens and potential injury.

Physical demands include, but are not limited to, considerable stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing heavy equipment and excessive standing and walking. Lifting approximately 25-50 lbs. occasionally.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
This position reports to the administrator and supervises clinical staff.
