The administrative supervisor coordinates and supervises the activities of hospital personnel during the evening, night, weekend or holiday hours. The position ensures quality patient care by evaluating the performance of nursing and ancillary services by continuously conducting unit and house rounds. The supervisor assists with patient-related issues, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
The administrative supervisor (day) coordinates and supervises the patient throughout their stay, from the point of admission to discharge. This individual coordinates and is a liaison with the Admissions Center to ensure a smooth transition from any access point to the final unit for care. This position maintains frequent communication with the emergency department to prevent back-up of admissions and to put in place procedures that might stop a backlog.
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and current license required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Licensed as a registered nurse in the state of New Jersey. BLS HCP required.

EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years of nursing experience required, preferably within a leadership role. Proficiency in clinical applications preferred at time of hire. Incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.
