Access Center Operator - Per Diem

Location: Egg Harbor Twp, NJ  |  Position Status: Per Diem/Pool  |  Position Shift: Varies

POSITION SUMMARY
The Access Center temporary operator uses a computerized console for incoming and outgoing calls for both AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center campuses in addition to directing callers for other AtlantiCare entities. This position provides prompt and courteous service, while adhering to company/department policies and procedures.

The Access Center temporary operators are responsible for prioritizing and processing all emergency codes and traumas. They must effectively initiate codes using pagers, overhead announcements and volo alerts. All codes should be documented as per policy and procedure.

This position provides answering service support for a variety of AtlantiCare entities. The operator will complete and assess each call to adequately process, document and escalate as per policy and procedures.

Additionally, the Access Center temporary operator is required to operate Manilla On-Call and Web eXchange with prompt notification to on-call staff and documentation.

The Access Center temporary operator provides information to callers relating to telephone numbers, extensions, connectivity to programs and services that meet their needs and preferences. Access operators route telephone calls and messages to the proper person, division, office or departments and refers other technical questions to the proper persons. Also provides excellent communication and customer service to all internal and external customers. Access Center operators perform other duties as assigned.

This position supports organizational strategic goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • EXPERIENCE: Basic knowledge of the keyboard required. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment required. Excellent communication skills required with the ability to use good choice in words. Operator experience preferred. Some knowledge of computers and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to sit in a confined area for long periods of time. Essential functions of this position are listed on the department-specific Assessment and Evaluation Tool.

This position reports to department leadership.
