AtlantiCare, a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award recipient and the leading health system in southeastern New Jersey, is seeking to add an outstanding Cardiac Critical Care Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant to join our Cardiovascular Services Department at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Mainland Campus. In this full-time role, the Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant will perform diagnostic and therapeutic tasks, including assisting in gathering the data necessary for implementation of the surgeon’s or intensivist’s therapeutic plan. You will also be responsible for acting as the patient’s advocate in the medical care system, serving as advisor and liaison between patients and physicians.
The Advanced Practice Nurse/Physician Assistant/ covers a 10-bed Cardiothoracic Surgery, Vascular Surgery and Cardiology Critical Care Unit and 4 CCU step-down beds. You will see consults in the emergency department and cath lab as needed. Additional responsibilities include management of mechanical support, e.g., VA and VV ECMO, intra-aortic balloon pump, chest tubes, central lines and PA catheters.
- Bachelor’s degree in a physical science from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an accredited physician assistant/surgical assistant/advanced practice nurse program.
- Minimum of two years of recent experience in cardiothoracic surgery.
- Must be certified or eligible for certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants or Advanced Practice Nurses and the New Jersey State Board of Education and Licensure.
