Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.

0–2 years of experience in healthcare or related area and knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the field.

Basic computer experience with knowledge of accounting systems, Microsoft Office products and related software required. Skilled in identifying and recommending problem resolution required.

POSITION SUMMARY
The PACE LIFE Program Accountant I maintains accurate accounting records to invoice participants and funding sources and records all case of PACE Organization. This position is expected to exceed in assuming, completing and proactively seeking additional responsibilities. The Accountant I maintains accurate personal needs accounts as approved by participants and interdisciplinary team, maintains log of Medicaid eligibility, prepares and submits all mandatory reporting that is within their scope, works with vendors to ensure processing of program specific documents (claims, data submissions, etc.) and assists staff with processing of routine administrative requests.
The Accountant I produces accurate, high-quality deliverables requiring limited review according to policies and procedures. This position also develops and utilizes tools to verify accuracy of product prior to submission. This Accountant I relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish established goals. This positon also performs a variety of complicated tasks and is expected to work independently while leading the work of others as needed.
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employee must be able to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team model, interfacing and collaborating with a wide range of clinical and social service disciplines who work together to manage the PACE participants' care. The work setting is in an adult day health center and primary care clinic environment with moderate noise levels and controlled temperatures. Requires manual and finer dexterity and eye-hand coordination; the ability to use department equipment; and the ability lift/carry up to 30 pounds using appropriate body mechanics with reasonable participants, customers and vendors and staff.
